Welcome! My name is Bright Gao and I make native Windows applications w/ C/C++ and Win32. To me, software engineering is about writing efficient software that can also run smoothly on old hardware - low CPU/memory usage, small executable size, etc.
It makes me sad that software engineering isn't appreciated (everyone is using electron, python, etc and no one minds the inefficiency/bloat). Oh well, it is all about marketing and UI/UX, which isn't a bad thing. Software engineering just isn't apart of the equation :(
